A good ride with Nigel, Al & Tony - in sometimes very hot conditions. The climb was hard work for me for some reason (probably too unfit).

Slightly spoiled by yet another collision between rock & left knee during yet another cleat-assisted dismount :-( . Still very painful today.

New forks and tyres are excellent - far greater confidence over the rough downhill stuff & off-camber/roots/mud respectively.

In hindsight, it was probably a mistake to go for a 34 tooth lowest cassette ring - tends to cause too much front wheel lift too easily. May just need some getting used to.

Discovered my new chain has an almost broken link - it's going back to the suppliers.

2hrs 5mins to get round 8.9miles, with 1hr 28mins actual cycling. Max speed 24.5mph.
